Whether you’re a new mom or your children are grown and gone, you’re well deserving of a little extra love this weekend. None of us are perfect, not even close, but parenting is no joke. I can think of at least five, pretty amazing reasons, to celebrate all moms this Mother’s Day.
She gave birth to you
No, we don’t need to recount the gory details, but trust me, no matter how it went down, it hurt. A lot.
She endured sleepless nights and toddler tantrums
The early years are adorable, but they’re not always pretty. From dirty diapers and late night feedings, to meltdowns and runny noses, it’s pretty messy. Literally and figuratively.
She always put you first
Most moms spend all day focusing on their children’s needs instead of their own. Are they hungry, thirsty, too hot, or too cold? Not to mention the time sacrificed from a mom’s former work and social life. But most of us don’t mind. Good thing our kids are all so cute : )
She loves you, no matter what
All throughout the crazy newborn stage, the terrible toddler years, the busy days of elementary school, and even after you became a dreadful teenager… your mom loved you. Unconditionally and unequivocally. Even after you peed on her as a baby, yelled at her as a kid, and straight up ignored her as a teen.
She celebrates you!
Since you were born, your mom has put most of her time, energy, and sanity into celebrating the amazing person you are. So make sure you celebrate the amazing person your mom is.
Happy Mother’s Day, everyone!
