Current research is finding that time spent outside in connection with nature has a variety of benefits. In fact, the busier you are, the more you should be offsetting that busy-ness with time spend outside.
This week, I challenge you to spend a little more time out in nature. You don’t have to go too far, and it doesn’t have to be for too long – but try to spend 5-10 minutes each day in some kind of contact with green things. Even a few minutes a day can make a difference in how grounded and refreshed you are feeling.
This might mean standing barefoot on your deck surrounded by plants, taking a walk through the park closest to your house, or even just standing on the patch of grass in the courtyard of your office building.
We are blessed that where we live here in beautiful British Columbia, and there are green spaces everywhere.
Wellthy Living Challenge: Green Space
Spend 5-10 minutes per day of time calmy and quietly taking in the elements around you. Enjoy the fresh air, the crispness of the colours around you, and notice all the little details that tell you the story of what’s happening in your world. Has it rained? Is the earth a rich, dark colour? Dry and dusty? Are there flowers? Fall leaves? Notice any changes from day to day.
